Up to 60 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups in Singapore will benefit from artificial intelligence initiatives thanks to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest IT services provider in India, which is launching a state-of-the-art innovation centre in the city, according to the Press Trust of India (PTI).

This new facility will be situated in TCS Asia Pacific’s office at Changi Business Park, enabling the company’s clients and collaborators, comprising 50 SMEs and 10 start-ups over the upcoming year, to collaborate with experts in developing, prototyping, and scaling AI solutions to address practical business issues.

Based in Mumbai, TCS also intends to recruit around 50 recent graduates from local universities in areas such as data science and cybersecurity to assist in the centre’s functions. As per reports, the company currently employs 6,600 people in Singapore.

According to The Straits Times, TCS did not reveal the cost or size of the facility but mentioned plans for expansion in the first half of 2026.

Punit Agarwal, the country head of TCS Singapore, told The Straits Times that SMEs in the region often lack access to high-level technology consulting expertise, but the new centre aims to close that gap.

“SMEs may not be as tech-savvy as larger corporations, but our consultants can guide them in understanding their data, learning how to use AI, and assessing their existing tech stack to identify what needs to be modernised,” he said.

Agarwal indicated that the centre will serve as a platform for fintech companies and start-ups to showcase their products and join TCS’ Co-Innovation Network, which connects innovative technology firms with TCS’ corporate customers globally.

“The centre will bring together our deep domain and contextual knowledge of customer business and cutting-edge technologies from Google, NVIDIA and other technology partners to deliver impactful outcomes for business in Singapore,” Agarwal added, as reported by The Straits Times.
